The Uzukuri Tin Tumbler: The Organic Texture of Tradition
This beer cup beautifully mirrors the textured grain of 'Uzukuri' cedar within the lustrous surface of pure tin.
Hacoa × NOUSAKU
A unique collaboration born from the shared passion of two Japanese masters: NOUSAKU (能作), a premier metal foundry from Toyama Japan, and Hacoa, a wooden design house from Fukui Japan.
At the heart of this design is Uzukuri, a traditional Japanese wood-finishing technique. Artisans meticulously brush the surface of Kawada Cedar—a wood known for its deep, expressive grain—to elevate its natural texture. This textured wood is then used to create a mold, into which 100% pure tin is cast. The result is a metallic surface that remarkably retains the organic feel of solid wood, fitting comfortably in your hand with a natural, soothing warmth.
Tin is prized for its ability to naturally mellow the flavor of beverages, ensuring a smoother palate.
A Health-Conscious Choice for Modern Living
Tin is a remarkably safe and sustainable material. Highly resistant to oxidation and naturally antibacterial, it has been cherished in Japan since ancient times for its ability to keep water fresh.
With a 350ml (approx. 12 fl oz) capacity, a meticulously crafted masterpiece for those who truly appreciate the art of fine drinking. An indentation on the side is hand-pressed by skilled artisans, allowing your thumb to rest naturally and comfortably.
It is more than just drinkware—it is a timeless fusion of Japanese heritage and modern functional beauty, designed to grace your table for a lifetime.
